7 Exercises that Burn More Calories

If you want to lose weight and get fit and toned, there are a lot of things you need to put on your to-do list. You should start eating better, drinking more water and counting all the calories you take in. In addition, you’ll definitely need to start an exercise routine.

But which exercise routine should you choose? Naturally, there are a number of options out there, but there are some moves that seem to take the cake. These exercises burn more calories in less amount of time.

1. Biking

Biking makes your core tense up and your legs constantly work to get you from here to there. It’s a great way to get outside too!

2. Playing Basketball

Basketball has a ton of running in it as you will need to go up and down the court many times throughout the game. There is also a lot of jumping and pivoting.

3. Playing Soccer

Playing soccer involves a lot of running and pivoting just like basketball, making it a great exercise for burning more calories.

4. High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT

HIIT stands for high intensity interval training. This is a type of exercise in which you begin doing something like swimming, biking or running at your maximum heart rate for one minute before walking, treading water or biking slowly for two minutes. Repeat the process as many times as you can.

5.Running and Jogging

Running motivates your heart to beat at a faster rhythm, which in turn burns a ton of calories. Also if you’re not quite up to running yet, you can always jog.

6. Aerobics

If you are not able to get outside for a run or jog or you can’t join a soccer and basketball team, don’t worry. You can take aerobics by joining a class at your local community center or gym, or you can even do aerobics in the comfort of your own home with an aerobics video. There are tons of them to choose from.

7. Swimming

When the weather is hot and you want to cool down while you exercise, swimming is your best option. Swimming burns tons of calories, and it’s also great if you have trouble with your joints because the water buoyancy will hold you up as you work out.

Try all of these exercises for yourself to see which ones you prefer. And don’t forget to join an exercise class for team at a local gym or community center if you can. Working out with a buddy or many buddies on a team or in a class can be a strong motivator to help you get your daily physical activity in on the regular.
