The 4th of July is a great time to celebrate out country and nation with fireworks, parades, parties and barbecues. If you’re planning on having a party or gathering of family and friends at your home, you’ll certainly be looking for ways to jazz the place up and decorate.

One of the best ways to decorate your home for the 4th of July is with lights. This celebration is often one that goes into the wee hours of the morning on July 5th, so you know you will need light anyway! Additionally, any outdoor party definitely needs great lighting, and you will certainly want to have your 4th of July party outside. So without further ado, here are 5 ideas for incorporating wonderful lighting into your 4th of July party.

1. Candles

First, there are candles. Use candles to your advantage in your outdoor party by placing them in key spots all over your yard, porch or deck. You might consider putting candles into Ball jars for a beautiful glow or hanging them from lanterns.

2. Tiki Torches

Tiki torches are another way to incorporate awesome lighting into your Independence day fiesta. Tiki torches are actually not that expensive, and they are great because they actually provide a lot of light to your outdoor party. In addition, you can purchase torches that have special ingredients in them to ward off mosquitoes and other bugs if those are often a problem for you and your guests.

3. Twinkle Lights

Twinkle lights or Christmas lights are another beautiful addition to any party, and they set off a lovely glow to your whole environment. You can purchase twinkle lights in a soft or bluish white and use them year round in different types of decorating. Alternatively, you can get special red, white and blue twinkle lights for this special Independence Day celebration.

4. Paper Lanterns

Paper lanterns are always a good idea no matter what type of outdoor party you are having. It’s easy to find white, blue and red paper lanterns at your nearest home goods store or online. Purchase different sized lanterns and hang them at various key spots throughout your deck or yard party for a great glowing light that is also festive.

5. Sparklers!

You probably won’t want to have sparklers as the main lighting at your party, but they are a must, especially if you going to have kids present. Sparklers can be purchased at fireworks stores around the time of Independence Day. Make sure your kids or adults who use the sprinklers are safe with them, and have fun!

Remember, the lighting for your party does not have to be complicated or expensive. you just have to get a little creative!
